What I would like to see on a Ti lock version 2.0

Just some of my thoughts on the Ti-Lock. I like it, but don't love it enough to buy one. I can see my mind being changed by a few changes:

1 - ditch the Mr.Peanut ventilation holes in the sides of the slabs. I'd really prefer the slab design simplified.
2 - offer it with silver lock mechanism. I don't know if the rollers have to be brass, but at minimum offer a silver lock spring as opposed to blue.
3 - Bead blast the scales.
4 - standard CRK pocket clip

The Ti-Lock has the most attractive blade profile I think CRK has ever produced. I just love the drop point. Its perfect, but I rather have the rest of the jazz toned down a bit.

Anyways......not likely to happen. Feel free to add your thought on this, or make other suggestions.

The holes in the scales are pretty much for grip. They do add something to it also..........I can see the want for a color other than blue on the lockbar, but CRK likes blue it seems, so unikely to chance..............The originals ( about 50 made ) were blasted like a sebenza, but was later made in the current stonewashed look................A regular CRK clip can be used to replace the funky one that is on it.

It is a nice knife. It has alot of blade for it size and the blade has a great profile and shape to it. I had one long ago and sold it off. I would like to get another someday. If there is anything about it that I do not like, I think its the price. I would rather buy a large sebenza for $10 more than another ti-lock. Just my opinion.

I didn't like the holes at first, but now I don't really care. I haven't had one. Only held one at a store several years ago.

I guess this sort of sums up my point. A lot of folk on this forum seem pretty much indifferent to the Ti Lock. They like it, but sold it, or they think its OK but would never buy one.

I think maybe its more than just the price. CRK dudes pay a lot of money for some pretty plain looking knives. In the case of the Ti-Lock, I think maybe its over-decorated and busy looking. I dunno, just a thought.

I'm actually considering getting it. There are no stores here that sell them, though, so last time I had a chance to hold one was when I went to a knife store in Paris before I had bought my first Sebenza or any knife at that price point. What made me think if the TiLock again was the recent G&G Hawk collabs with other brands plus the fact that I was looking at a Strider SNG and started thinking what else I could get for the money.

I agree on two points, the blue coloring and the clip. It is an interesting concept and I would like to try one out but don't want to pay to find out. If I could only handle one in a local shop........

Well..... I've owned one for almost 2 yrs now, and I must say its my favorite CR knife! The clip is a piece of artwork, but you can change it for a normal clip if you wanted. Tried that once offcourse, but it ruines the design of the knife! Kinda like the blue as well..... Maybe The spine is removable and you can polish the coloring away...?!

Id like a couple things...
1. Lose the holes in the scales...
2. Scale finish the same as the sebenza.
3. CRK logo moved to the thumb stud (both sides)
4. Idaho Made moved to a back spacer that cover only from the lanyard to about half up the scale (if not removed all together)
5. Round out the bump on the end near the lanyard hole.

I have one and love it. I think the blue looks awesome on it...kinda makes it more unique than what it already is. The holes in the slabs are fine...seems to match the overall weird styling . I would leave as is, but others suggestions as what to change etc are also cool too. I would scratch the clip if i had to get rid of one thing, ALTHOUGH it looks cool as hell...but sucks functionally.

BTW...I remember reading that CRK did away with blasting the scales as it was too hard to get into every crevice. Maybe someone else can confirm? Id like a blasted one just to check out.
