I know hitachi doesn't like ZDP-189 being machined overseas but is it at all possible? Wasn't there a U.S.A Kershaw made of ZDP-189?

Kershaw is owned by KAI Group, a Japanese company. Thats probably why they can get USA made knives with Japanese steel.

easy, just put on G-10 scales on an endura, thicken the SS liners, use a zdp blade, and you have something a lot like the millie.

I have to think, given all the steels the Military has been offered in over the past seven years, that at least one of them is as good, or better than ZDP-189. If not, I'm sure one will be along in the next couple years.

I have the CTS-XHP Millie and while it "feels" like ZDP its not quite the same, I was just curious if its possible- one can only dream! :P
