I like the look of the William Henry folders every time I see them in the AG Russell catalogue. But judging from the music in this ad:

...I just don't think the marketing folks at WH had me in mind. I don't drive a Ferrarri, Porsche or McLaren-Mercedes. I drive a Nissan. Now that you have the neccessary background I'll spring with the question I wanted to ax:

Is there a decent knock-off for William Henry? And please don't say Frost. (Thanks)

Enquiring minds want to know.

What exactly do you mean by knock off? Are you looking for similar looks without the price, or similar performance without the price? For similar looks, you're SOL. WH is actually one of the cheaper sources for a mammoth tooth, mokume, and damascus folder with actual gemstones set into the thumbstuds. If you want a very very well put together folder, then there are more options.

Also, which folder were you looking at? Some aren't that expensive.

Decent and knockoff don't generally go hand in hand. Now if you mean, "is there a company putting out WH quality and craftsmanship at budget prices" then the answer is no. However, there are many companies that good knives for reasonable prices. Heck, check the makers forum for folding knives. You may find one that floats your boat, and my experience is that the prices are very reasonable for custom knives.

Is ZDP worth the price? That depends on your steel preferences and how you are going to use the knife.
