I was updating my collection pics for the complete collection thread today to add the new Gold Leaf and got to thinking .... I really like the Gold Leaf and consider it to be a very elegant CGG model. I thank CRK for once again giving me an excuse to spend money and stimulate the poor economy!

As I was cropping and prepping pics for upload, I got to thinking. What if ..... at some point in the future .... CRK would put out a matching CGG. Same design .... but leave the design a bright silver, to create a Silver Leaf!

Don't know about you ..... but I would certainly add it to the collection!!! It would be a perfect companion to the Gold Leaf. Truth be told, as elegant as the Gold Leaf looks .... I am kind of thinking I would like a "Silver" Leaf a tad better!
 
Love the way you did the photos.
The "Silver Leaf" with silver accents would make a fine companion to the Gold and would be easy enough to do, just leave out the anodizing step.
I wonder if CRK would agree to do one? Be fun to check and find out.
The two would indeed make a nice pair. :)

It would be an easy special for them . . . leave out the anodizing step. If not, you could easily produce one after the fact by removing the anodizing yourself. :)
 
Dennis, I always check out your threads because your pictures are the best. Great looking knife.
 
Normally, CRK policy is not to alter CGG designs in any way. I may, however, just have to drop them an email or give them a call!!
 
Ill drop them an email as well and see if this goes any ware. On a side note I've been lusting over the Elk mountain design.

A rolling stone doesn't suffer from hemorrhoids (wait, that's not how it goes, oh well) ..... emailed them a couple hours ago .... so they'll see it when they get back to work on Monday!!!
 
I would DEFINITELY buy a silver version but not the gold leaf. Interesting how much of a difference it can make...
 
I'm not 100% sure but you could ask for a UGG (Unique Graphic) with that similar design in either a silver contrast or reverse silver contrast.

I'm sure they could do that. Wait time would be the worst part...not sure what their work load is now, but I had a Unique Graphic made up a few years ago and it only took 4 months, which isn't that bad all things considered.
 
It doesn't hurt to ask, but anytime I have asked, was always told No, in a nice way of course. CRK will not deviate from what is offered and thats pretty much it.

You can't blame them though, they Always have a backlog as their knives are always in high demand. But since they do custom designs, I never seen why it would hurt to either alter an existing CGG or make a CGG that has been discontinued. Probably has more to do with all the "fakes" around than anything else.
 
Looking at your pics again, I would be in for a Silver Leaf. Reminds me of the fine hand carved scroll work you see on fine firearms and such costing Tons more.
 
Well, wish I had better news. Heard from Heather. No go on making a silver leaf. Oh well, 'twas worth a shot.
 
Well shucks Dennis, worth a shot though like you said.
Personally, I like the gold :D
