What impresses me about a Sebenza

This past weekend I was set up at a Custom Show in our town. I took in a Large Decorated from 7/17/1996. The customer had stored it basically all these years. It was serial #19, which was from the first 200 that were made when CRK changed to the new style Sebenza. I looked at the knife closely and realized, these seems to be no improvement to the lock up or the function. Why? Because they got it RIGHT from the beginning. A knife made 5 years ago by CRK is just as stout & strong and has the same tolerances as one coming out of the showroom today. Consistent Quality is what CRK is all about. The Graphic desgin was even a real kicker..it was gorgeous and had a very contemporary look to it from 5 years ago. I enjoyed talking to Anne about it also and hearing a bit of the history on the knife. I love being a dealer with a knife company like Reeve. I can call at anytime and almost always talk to Anne or Chris and they will take their time with me if the staff cannot answer my questions!

Hats off to CRK always :)

I have really enjoyed my plain Sebenza. I didn't realize that someone would think it so odius that it must smell bad.

This must be a much more elite group than I thought.

I just recieved a lightly used April 2000 Sebenza from a Bladeforum ad. I really don't like to accumulate things and I think I can stop collecting a drawer full of lesser
knives. You define the word "best".

My father used to bring home small samples of different structural materials. I had a collection of copper, titanium, 304 stainless, polyethelyne, silver, teflon, aluminum,
etc, etc. A neat collection, I thought. That is what the Sebenza means to me, a construction of exotic materials into a functional tool. My collection in my pocket.

I was cutting 1/2" Carflex tubing today and it goes through it like no razorknife I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention and the blade shot right
through and struck the cement pad I was working on, chipping the blade. It looked like a 1/2" long micro serration at the base of the blade. The Sharpmaker did a
nice job polishing away the chipped part. Well, its a nice, broken in user knife now.

In a few months, I would like to get my name engraved on it. My daughter is turning into a knifeknut, she loves to see the blade cut through paper.

I am also saving for a Project I, did I say I would stop accumulating knives?

Any chance of a pic Mike? We are not having much luck getting me a Sebi are we?;)

To everyone else, every time I decide I want a knife from Uncle Mike, he has already sold it!

Gota be quicker in future...:p

Yep...I hope to have a pic in the next day or so General........
You are right about me getting you a Sebbie...for some unusual reason, local sales @ the shows have been great with CRK. I get some snazzy stuff in to try and catch up on stock, and it seems to move very quickly....a nice problem to have I suppose:rolleyes: We will get you hooked up soon..I know that paycheck from the new job is going to be burning a hole in your pocket:p

I have found a wood inlay damascus small and I had to jump on it Mike! The deal is not done or anything, but I would say thanks to a fellow Formites help it is about 85% done with me being 110% behind it. I feel guilty that the deal did not go through with you as you have always been such a great guy, sorry about that, I really am:( . I did try you first though Mike and you can be sure I will get some more stuff from you real soon!

:p :D

Aw Shucks Wayne.....shoot-fire...... show us some pics when it comes thru :) I am glad you finally got what you were looking for. I have a couple of other customers myself wanting Damascus Woody's too.

Ok General.....finally got the pic ready on the 1996 Model.
