Have this fulcrum from Extrema Ratio 2nd from some one. I thought all Extrema Ratio's blade are made of N690 steel. When I play with mine, i saw on the blade says "58HRC Cobalt SS"

What a......

Did I got cheated by the seller? What exactly is the 58HRC cobalt stainless Steel? How is it compares to N690 and other??

I've done a bit of research and from what i've gathered N960 contains 1.50 cobalt - relatively high compared to 1.07, .10 vandium, 1.10 Molydbenum and 17.0 Chrome and is made in Sweden by Bohler's Uddeholm plant. I belive 58 refers to the HRC Cobalt Refers to the fact that it is N960 and SS refers to the fact that it is Stainless Steel. However, it differs very much in the composition of most Stainless Steels but I know for fact that it has a high corrosion resistance.

Its cool always glad to help, you had me stumped for a second, I assumed that you didnt get ripped of but I almost changed my mind untill I realized they were just abriviations. BTW hows the steel on that knife?

Its real tough  it is my only "big" knife. I don't have a Busse so i can't really comment in comparison. but It is tough! Pretty sharp considering its size. but is not sharp sharp as most of my folder. And I know i should don't compare orange to apple.

I got this Extrema Ratio full size for $170. I think it is very cheap comparing after the price online. People are asking 250+ for new.

The price was too good to believe, that is why i start to wonder, what is wrong with it......until i saw "58HRC....i was..."

Now the confusion is all over! Yet, i did get a real knife for its fair price
