What is the typical specifications for a Bura Special ?

I could not find it in the HI website..........and the search function in the Bladeforum on my comp does not work................

Does it have fullers.........2......maybe 3 ?

methinks it's whatever Bura wants it to be at the time, unique & "Special" 'cus it ain't in the catalogue, a piece of art, not a specific 'model', but what he feels like making.

in the past, there have a been a few Bura specials that were tin churra (IIRC) - three fullers.

But yes, it can be anything he wants...

IIRC= If I Recall/Remember Correctly

Thanks for raising the question on Bura specials, was wondering myself if it meant a new model, or just whatever Bura was in the mood to make.

Some of these new specials kind of harken back to the day where "villager models" were for sale a few years ago. My very first khuk was a villager. It wasn't a villager siru, or a villager Ang Khola, or a village BAS. It was just a villager. I was kind of like the love child of an AK and a BAS. It was as long and heavy as an AK with a plain sword of shiva. However, it had no fullers. 15.5" of love at first site:D Kumar landed a #1 fan with that knife.

When a knife comes in that defies categorization, sometimes Yangdu calls it a Special I think. As far as I know, there have been several Bura and Sher _village_ specials. There were also a couple by Sher called Vogpuri Village Specials, and there was a one time Lal Special by Kesar, based on the YCS, but no fullers. However, I have only seen one "Bura Special" that was not a villager, and I called it a Hanshee type, from the 8/1 DOTD. It is probably closest to the hybrid hanshee in appearance, although a bit shorter I believe.

Here it is at the top:

I was lucky enough to snag this, and it is a 10/10 effort from Bura and balances very nicely. So, so far, except for the Kesar blade (and YCS, GS, GRS, BGRS, etc. models with that word in their name as well) all the "Specials" are either Sher / Bura Village specials or this Hanshee-type Bura special or that great "Sher Special" from 9/27.

However, as Dan said, I would not be surprised at all to see several more one-of-a-kind specials coming along that are new models that they put together.

Norm.............I saw what you had got too...........8/1 DOTD.........

That Bura Special has one big fuller ?? :)

Astro, I guess you could say that, but I didn't think of it that way at the time. It does have a slightly concave center blade there before the bevel, but most of that is the light I think.
