I was wondering what a fair price is for a large and small sebenza? Scratches on the handles but great overall condition. Thanks you!!!

If they're mint condition, then you could find one for about $30-$50 off the price of new. If they're starting to show wear and missing their packaging then I think about a hundred dollars less than retail is reasonable.

If you get into some customized or limited edition stuff then all guesses are out the window.

Happy shopping. You're likely better off buying one new, where you know you won't get any surprises (broken tip, missing washers, unreported condition or damage, worn lockup, etc...) and someone will be accountable for the product.

I've been hesitant to buy used, but if you have a rapport with someone here you can shop comfortably. Personally, True North Knives has always been my first choice.

When I had a couple (a moonsong, and website)I sold them for 275.00? But I never really try to make any money, just enough to pay for the next knife/knives...

keep in mind, sebs come in many levels...

standard/plain......................=$385
double lugs .........................+$35
swedge ..............................+$35
serrations ...........................+$27.50
graphics .............................+$varies
unique graphics ...................+$100
wood inlays .........................+$70
micarta inlays ......................+$70
Cabochon (gem) inlays .........+$8-$35
damascus ...........................+$130-$155
Annual woodies ....................=$590
and there not uncommom with one or more of these options.

Most sebenzas cost you $27.50 to make like new again... one of the reasons they are valuable on the used market, and also a great reason to buy used!

Lol :) (need to get my mid out of the gutter)

Arethe older BG42 considered more desirable? They seem to get grabbed up real fast when they come available. Joe
