What is a fair price for ZT 804CF

I found two listings for $250 and $275. I remember when it first went discontinued it was marked down to $200 by retailers. $250 is what I'd pay for it, brand new, considering that it's hard to find.
 
Too high, unless you really want one bad enough. They’ve sold here for $200.00 to $240.00
 
I just looked at past sales on EB and saw that 0804CFs have sold there recently for between $380-400. One even sold for $599, if you can believe that! Then again, others have sold there for between $230-305. So, the prices there seem to be all over the place.

One sold here on the Exchange just a few days ago for $225 and one sold recently on ACZ for $235.

So, even though I own one and would be happy to get $380-400 for mine (if was was going to sell it which I am not going to do), I think anything between $225-250 for a ZT 0804CF would be a "great" price and anything between $250-300 would be a "fair" price considering that it originally sold for around $266 (with a MSRP of $350).

$400+ IMO would be too much, especially since it is apparently NOT hard to find given all of the recent sales that I've seen online.

ZT 0804 was discontinued some time ago, so it is hard to say what a fair price for it is now. The knife profile looks good but I never bought it for two reasons: the white markings all over the places on a supposedly blacked out knife and the deep recess for clip mounting on the CF scale that nobody uses on a right-hand folder.
 
The 0804CF used to be the top dog in the regular ZT lineup. It sold for $280 I believe until they were discontinued and dropped to $200. I had one in 204p and 20cv and sold the 20cv for around the original price. Wish I hadn’t though, they’ve gone up in price a little since.
The only thing I don’t like about the knife is the pocket clip. It’s extremely tight and to my knowledge there is no aftermarket clip for it.
 
I have heard that issue about the clip more than a few times . There are 2 on evilBay, one is $400 and the other is $599, what a joke .

Negative, they were not available listings but past listings. They were from retailers that's why the price was not insane.

Also my 2¢ on the clip since I have one, it's perfectly fine. I love its retention and it's very nicely made. The knife would not feel nearly as nice without it.
 
I recently got mine on the Bay, think I paid $260. It’s a 20CV version. Seller had it marked much higher, but was willing to be reasonable with the “make offer” option. Definitely wish I bought one when they were $200, but I missed that boat, so I had to suck it up. Frankly, I absolutely love it, and have no regrets regarding what I paid. It’s a fantastic, larger knife that carries very flat in pocket. I have no issues with the clip tension whatsoever. I do wish a filler tab was available to make the CF side look cleaner, better yet, if they didn’t even mill the clip divot on the CF side at all, but it’s still quite a looker to me.

I wouldn’t regret getting one for that price. There are 2 on eBay for $400 and &599. Want to phase out eBay as soon as I can.

Well, I don't like the coating (I enjoy the look of a satin blade), it is pretty thick and not slicey, and the lock is sometimes hard for me to disengage (could be my hands not used to such a large blade, or some people may prefer a solid lockup). Those are my only gripes.
 
Thanks for replying. It just occurred to me that back in 2018 , I had this one and sold it,like a fool!
I have had the deployment issue with a few ZT. Some are very finicky about even touching that lock-bar. They have that tuned detent that was supposed to address that issue. I think it is the 0707 and I found that didn’t change the issue. It was just too thin to
Keep my fingers off that lock bar. I called Oregon and spoke to a a CSR to ask if they were aware of this issue, and got a resounding YES. Anyway I love this Forum and talking knives with true enthusiasts.
