What is a 'G10' Benchmade?

I was at this pawnshop...

And there was this Benchmade Nimravus fixed blade knife. Now googling I found the handle looked just like a 'Nimravus g10'.. with a ridiculous price ( I paid $70 for the knife and this cool benchmade kyndex sheath with a thumb lock on it.)

So is the handle what makes it a 'G10'?

G10 is a material used for knife scales...

I still sort of regret not grabbing a Nimravus while they were more readily available. Screw that guy guy, though

Yes, the two sides of the handle that are screwed on to the blade are called handle scales. In this case they are made of G10, a highly compressed fiberglass material that is very tough and strong.
