Can anyone recommend a good flashlight that uses one or two AA batteries? I know nothing about flashlights but would like to get a good small reliable light with as much life and output as I can and still run on AA batteries. I know other batteries are better performers but finding AAs are like finding .22lr shells. They are everyplace.

+1 on the fenix lights.

also consider the UK 4AA eLED light. 12 hrs full brightness and another 25 or so hrs diminishing brightness!! not as bright as fenix naturally. of course its bigger than a fenix with 4AA. BTW the 4 AA are side by side not in single file!

checkout www.brightguy.com good retailer.
also checkout www.flashlightreviews.com for great reviews. i never buy a light w/o checking there first

The Fenix L1P crushes the Streamlight Jr in every way and is worth every extra penny.

I respectfully disagree. The L2P is better but my L1P does not put out as much light as my Streamlight Jr. Luxeon. It does bave a prettier overall beam with better sidespill but cannot compete in output or throw IMO.

How about a Streamlight Propolymer 4AA Luxeon?
I own one of these as well as a Fenix L1P and you can`t go wrong with either. The clickie tailcap on my Fenix is hit or miss and I`m currently expecting a replacement from Lighthound. The Streamlight doesn`t get the same use because the Fenix is smaller and easier to carry.

My side by side comparison has the L1P being much brighter. My Jr. is an early model, how old is your version? I'd be interested to know if they have improved the output. Thanks for the input.

I currently have 2 Arc-P's that I LOVE. But, it looks like I NEED to get a Fenix L1P!!!

The new and improved streamlight jr lux has better runtime, but go with the L2P. (or flatout go for full brightness with a Sandwich)

i wonder if Peter Uppykicker is related to Cathy Untlicker of the Martha's Vineyard Untlickers....
