Hi guys,
I like knives in general and I am expanding my horizons. What is a good, inexpensive bali to start with? I once had a heavy brass handled one, I don't remember the company, and I never really got past the basic opening move. I would like to give it a try again. Suggestions?

try getting a rostfrei.they are very good knives for their price, which is about 10.00.i have 5.email me and i'll see if i can find a site that has them.

I suggest a Jaguar. It is 3 times as expensive as a cheapie but it wont turn you off completely. THen again Mario might have a point.. start real low then jump up to a BM42

The Taiwan made knives, with the Rostfrei blade are a very nice item for the money. They are much better than the China made knives and only a few dollar more. They usually sell in the $10 to $12 range, and I ship them for $2 postage. I have a fairly good selection of them at www.BalisongKnife.com We stock the plain blade and the kriss blade in quite a few different colors. Thanks, JohnR7

Thanks guys, I have not made a decision yet, I think I will do some more research. One more question. I definately prefer carbon steel over stainless. Are there any bali's with good carbon blades? The better the steel the more I am interested.
