What is a good folder knife with small/short serrations? (Smaller than Spydercos)

Hi,

I have two Spyderco fully serrated knives (Police and Salt), they are great knives, HOWEVER, the serrations on them are pretty large in size and are not ideal for what I use it for.

I use it to cut small bait fish and I believe a knife with smaller sized serrations will much better suit this task.

Can someone recommend a good quality folder knife that has smaller/shorter serrations? I am open to a fixed blade knife as well but a folder is definitely more preferred.

Thank you kind folks!

As far as I know, Spyderco is the only maker selling fully serrated folding knives. There are shops that can cut serrations into a plain edge folder for you, but the only one I know of personally is Veff, and his serrations are big.

Cold Steel sells several fully serrated folders(in fact, I recently got 2 of them), and their serrations are pretty small...they're generally considered good for cutting meat, but not so good for other cutting tasks. Off the top of my head, you can get the Hold Out series, Rajah 3, Talwar series, Tuff Lite series, and the Voyager Vaquero series all fully serrated, I may be forgetting some though.

Thank you for that, it is good to know. How are they to resharpen? I've done kitchen knives with small serrations for friends and they have to be ground only on the back, since no stone fits into the flutes.

I'm glad CS offers this option in some of their folders.

Honestly, I don't know, I own 3 full serrated Cold Steel knives(Hold Out 1, Rajah 3, Voyager Vaquero Large), but I've never carried them so never needed to resharpen them. Usually I got for plain edge, but in this case, I got a good price on them so I picked them up to add to the collection.

Lansky offers a crock stick sharpener specifically for cold steel's proprietary serrations. Just search for "lansky cold steel".
