Anyone ever put a handle on a Scatchet? Its sort of like a hatchet with a theaded hole (aound 1inch) for a handle to screw into.

I found one I bought about 30 years ago in my shed.

Its like new, no rust, hardly used and still sharp.

I'd like to get a good handle for it.

I screwed it onto 1/2 of an old pool cue that had a leather handle. It looked great but broke at the first swing into an old orange tree stump. I never knew pool cues were so flimsy and had so many peices.

Anyway, I wa swondering if anyone hand ever bought or made a handle for one of these.

Thanks.

I got me a large hunk of Yucca stem to play with. or any old or new branch will do. Or an old push broom handle.

I thought about the broom handle but it probably would break pretty easy.

I wish I could get a nice hammer handle that had a round shape for the Scatchet...maybe even a cold steel handle from one of their hawks would work.

I cannot post a picture but google scatchet and you'll find some.

hey there , first of all I would love to buy that scatchet from you ,,, contact me at my e-mail or whatever you prefere... the handle of choice or should I say the real and only handles for this type of scatchet is a green branch of tree, a little larger than the threaded hole and the recomended length is from your elbo to your nuckles

What about a replacement handle for an Engineers hammer? You'd need to round the eye up a bit.
