What is a good leather strop?

Well i just ordered the spyderco sharpmaker and want to complement it with a leather strop. Where can i buy one of these at? Any advice on how to use one? I know the jist of it but advice would help. Thanks.

if there is a saddler or bootmaker anywhere nearby, head down to them and buy a piece of scrap leather, or sacrifice an old leather belt.

glue that piece of leather onto a piece of wood.

coat with some kind of stropping rouge, or just do like I did and wipe the oil and ground up bits of knife gunk from your stones onto the leather to charge it up.

voila, a strop.
 
ferhman knives make a great piece for 20$. or you can try an old belt to start. also in many large towns you may find an ole timey barber shop that will give or sell one since aids spelled doom to the straight razor.
