Hey my girlfriend and i want to buy some new camping equipment and sleeping bags and tents are on top of our list. We need something waterproof and windproof foremost. The last tent we have i sealed the seams and waterproofed the sides and it still leaked. She's 5'3" and i'm 6' so sized sleeping bags are a must, we prefer mummy bags. Any other accessories that would go along with it are a must, i kind of like a vestibule for gear & shoes also. Footprints, are they really worth it? It needs to be fairly cheap, but not worthless junk from walmart.

go check out the gear sub forum. lots of info there. besides this is a gear question not a survival question ;)

wow. i prefer a double-bag when camping with a SO.....

Haha, i was unaware that they made double bags. We usually just take our sleeping bags and lay one under and one over if we want. Double bag seems like a bi**h to carry into and out of the woods.

Suzuki, I spam this alot but Slumberjack really is a great company, and commonly overlooked. They have a female version of the Solara, their mainstay backpacking mummy. I have a Solara myself and really, it's ideal. Very durable, soft and comfortable, machine washable, NICE compression bag from the factory, zippered vents for warm summer nights... I paid 35 bucks for mine. Tent wise, I picked up a North Face Tephra 22 self supporting 2 person for 90 bucks new. It's completely mesh from about 2 feet on up, so you can see the sky from inside, and breathes very efficiently. Nice rain cover/vestibule too. I don't think they make it any more but I'd buy another North Face 2 person again. The other company I'd look at is Kelty.

I believe Slumberjack also makes them so you can zip a left and a right together without having to buy a giant double bag.
