What is a good thinner to clean male/female parts that have been loctited?

I have a few knives that have been loctited many times and are starting to have a gunk build up.

Great... me an the wife are kinda stuck... Just kidding ;)

I use clear nail polish as locktite anyway; it's semi-permanent, and the nail polish remover works great on it. (No matter how trashed my garage is, I can still find my wife's NP remover in the house. :p)

thx - cpr

(ps - nail polish works great on adjustable revolver sights, too. Clear on the rear, to hold the setting, bright on the front, for hi-vis.)

Acetone (nail polish remover).

You can also buy acetone in most Home Depot or paint stores. Usually by the qt or pint. Very flammable! store away from any spark or flame.
