What is a larger version of a 707 sequel?

Hi

Exuse me if this has been asked before - but I can't see it.
I already have the 707 Sequel, ritter grips small and large,+ more

Love the sequel, but would like a larger version with the blade the size of a full Griptillian.
Ideally in many ways the ideal would be a large Sebenza with an axis lock and thin handle profile like sequel

I can't see anything on the Benchmade site that fits the bill - and are rather surprised as it seems an obvious design.

The old 710 D2 is the closest I can see - but I like simple flat blades

Have I missed something can anyone provide a recommendation ?

Cheers and thanks in advance

My understanding is that the 705 is a small version of the 710. When the 705 was discontinued it was replaced by the 707 sequel. At this point all three have been discontinued.

The blades are all a little different, though whether that matters a lot is an individual question. The 705 (still have two and love them) was a conventional clip-point. The 710 has a slight recurve. The 707 is more of a drop-point with a deep belly. So, none of the family are really big/small pairs, but the 710 is quite close. Sharpening the recurve is actually quite easy on rods, so that shouldn't keep you from trying a 710.

The 710 Sequal is called that because it is the smaller sequal to the 705. Grab one while you can still find themnas they have been discontinued Benchmade has a tendency to discontinue every single one of their best models.

The 707 Sequel is called that because it was a thinner sequel to the 705, but not smaller. Both had blades spec'd at 2.95" and closed lengths of 3.8".

The 707 sequel is the same size frame, blade, etc but with thinner liners than the preceding 705.

There is no scaled up 707 sadly, or I would certainly own one. The recuve of the 710 and slightly less tall blade profile of the 710 and 705 are less to my interest than the 707

First entry with the new format...the 705 was made in much smaller numbers for whatever reason. That makes them hard to find. I think the introduction of the Sequel was to address that. While the Sequel isn't the 705, it's a nice design; although for some of us it's a little too small in length for those of us with large hands.

Thanks all - sounds like a 710. Though it is surprising as what looking for is a fairly standard requirement - and making the equivalent of a Sebenza with an axis lock seems like an obvious move i.e. a non tactical, slimmer profile, straight edged clip point. I do like straight edges. Does Benchmade have a habit of running out a model leaving a gap then reintroducing the updated replacement?

705 is not middle sized, it is identical to the 707 in handle profile. The 707 is the same liner adjusted to be thinner, given the aluminum adds rigidity over g10.
I am of the opinion that the 707 was introduced to make it a slimmer offering width wise, take 0.1 oz off in the process, and closer match the slicing performance of a 710 since the height of the blade on the 707 is much closer to the 10 than the 5 was.
