What is all the fuss about?

Hi all.
So, i am relatively new to this whole "knife thing." The short time i've been a BF member, i'll tell you...i see quite a flurry of activity in this Becker forum. Sooo...me thinks it is time to step up and see what all the fuss about.

with that said....i did a bit of research and the BK16 seems like it would be a good fit for my uses.

Now on to my actual question...and get ready...it's a stupid one...wait for it...here it is..."Where should i buy my Becker BK16?"

there is not a local dealer that i have found that carries them, which means i have to turn to the internet.

i joke that my question is stupid...but, i'm serious. if i'm spending my money, i want to do business with a company i am proud to do business with. that might be hokey, but it is the way i feel.

so...if y'all have any advice where i should buy (i.e. good experiences, personal acquaintance, whatever), then please let me know. and, if any of you have one that you are willing to part with, then please let me know that too.

Welcome! I think the BK16 is a great choice for your first Becker.

+1 for Moose. Haven't ordered any knives from him yet, but did order a Kabar/BK&T hat and was very happy with the transaction.

Another great place to get Kabar and/or Becker knives is Tomars Kabars (http://tomarskabars.com/), I've ordered there many times and always great.

There are other places but...

1.) they aren't listed dealers here on bladefourms, and
2.) I've yet to have a reason to order anywhere else.

Moose. No question. I ordered a BK-7 on Tuesday afternoon and it was here Thursday morning (yesterday). Per the price in the thread listed above by Viper.

Now, I've ordered from the South-American river store and had knives come in opened packages, missing documentation, and in such a state as I had to question the authenticity. I knew they would make it right if something was truly amiss, but I'd prefer to get it from someone I can "see" on this forum. That way I can give feedback that is read, respected and responded to. Made me feel very safe about the purchase.

Moose is a stand up guy, no worries there. I have never ordered anything from him but wouldn't hesitate to do so.

If he is out then Dale at The-Knife-Connection.com has always done me well with excellent customer service and super fast shipping. He may have some in stock. The first batch moved pretty damned fast from everywhere...

Moose and Tomars are both dealers on here, so we can recommend them without rules violations. I have a few other places that I buy from, but they don't have the 16 in stock. Post up pics when you get it, and welcome to the Becker subforum!

Tomars have really good prices...But their shipping is kinda pricey if your getting just 1 blade (and you live outside the states). Moose here on bladeforums has a good selection too.

KUDOS to that sentiment! You have your priorities straight . In lieu of supporting a local dealer , Mr MOOSE here is your best choice of any online source. Why? Because he along with Ethan and Bladite are the driving forces behind the overall quality of this forum.

Moose has more than paid his dues to the world of Becker.. I say get your BK16 from him.

I can tell you this- No one on the 'net really deserves any one's new Becker or Kabar knife business anymore than Moose.

your response was just what i was looking for. and, you don't need to explain your words to me. as i said, that's what i asked for....your opinion.

i agree that i will keep the money in-house, so to speak. i do plan to hit up moose next week.
