Is an "E" handle the kind that is on the Busse Basic series, or is it the canvas micarta that is on the Combat??

Thanks for any clarification.

Bill

To further clarify a bit, the "E" designation refers only to the newly redesigned micarta handles on the Busse Combat line of knives (such as the Battle Mistress, Steel Heart II, Natural Outlaw, etc.). Thus the "E" distinguishes these "dropped handle" knives from the earlier straight handles versions of the Combat line. The Basic line has only had one handle configuration.

Thanks for the info. Is there a reason why they went to a drop handle design? I had a Badger Attack and really liked the straight handle.

Andy or Jerry could speak to this much better than I, but in a nutshell, the E handle allows the user to bring the cutting edge to bear with the wrist at a more natural angle (in relation to the rest of the arm). Those who have used knives of this design claim that chopping tasks in particular (and most all other tasks to a lesser degree) are easier and less fatiguing than would be the case when the same chores are attempted with a comparable straight handled knife. I can hardly wait to find out for myself.
