I am a new member and am hoping somone can help with a question. I have seen someone say that they have seen a particular knife for sale on "BA". Can someone tell me what 'BA" is. Sorry for what is probably a really obvious question.
Thanks
Chris

Thanks for the info. Is this a generic term or is it a reference to a specific site?
Chris

;) Gotcha thanks guys and sorry Chris for stepping on your post.. I learnt 2 things so far lol ..

It is a specific site, and as a general rule, we do not advertise other sites here.

Actually a good idea to post all these abbreviations. I am new too and had to find out what 'EDC' (Every Day Carry) was and today had me searching for 'DAO', to find it is Double Action Only, a firing mechanism for semi-automatic pistols.

We should have a Bladeforums dictionary thread for all the little short forms so new members don't get confused. There's alot of them...EDC, OTF, SAK, DAO, SS...umm, probably a zillion others...

The lecturer in my MBA course always reminded us that the "BA" part stood for "Bullshit Artiste"

BA is Bad Attitude. Didn't anyone watch the A-Team? BA Barakus.

In my school days it was a thread type 'British Association', along with AF, American Fine or Across the Flats for spanners. <I think>

Yep, memory not failing me :)

BA (British Association) Thread Data

This thread has been around for a long time. It was first formulated in 1884 and was standardised in 1903. Mainly found in electrical fittings and accessories, it is slowly being replaced by ISO metric.
