I have seen several buck 109 folder
Have no record when they were made, is this model discontinued ?

You have seen this mythical beast?

I didn't think it existed.

In fact, I was hoping they'd use that open 109 model number to designate the spade-nose 110 to differentiate it from the classic clip-blade 110.

A real 110 should look like a folding mini-bowie.

Are you sure you've seen one? I love this place. Learn something new every day.

a quick look google wise showed me a couple Yellowhorse customs being called that, but visually they looked like 112s.....

I got no idear....in to learn on this one.....

You can find the 109 on page 10 of the 1992 catalog. Yes, a DY custom 112.

Of related interest, the 108 is the DY custom chip flint version of a Vanguard. The Cut Hair series.
Found in the 1990 catalog, 1 year before the 192 Vanguard was introduced in the 1991 catalog.

Here's a DY 109...

Beautiful work.

But a rose by any other name is still a rose.

And a 112 by any other name is still a .......................... wait for it............. 112.

Haha, and like this drop point 112 so is a drop point 110........A 110.

Apparently.

But the spade point looks much different from the classic knife we all love.......so it should have a new model number.

Like they did with the 111.

But that's merely my feeling.........just the opinion of one man who is older than ancient dirt and sliding perceptibly toward senility.

:D

I agree, not a true 110 imo, same with the slim pro but I get that the model number sells.
