What is Closest to a Spyder Saw?

When I'm in the woods, I always have a Vic Rucksack or other large SAK with me. Admittedly, though, I only really carry it for the saw, and I always have at least one other knife on me. The Spyder Saw looks like a good replacement in that its light, compact, and provides just a little bit longer of a blade. The thing is darn expensive, though, when compared to all the pruning saws that can be had for about $20. So what's the smallest pruning type saw that will cut as well as the Spyder Saw?

For the past couple of years I've been carrying the Gerber/Fiskars slide out saw. It cuts like the devil and is very light weight. Target has them for about 9.95.

Yep, I've got the same one, I'm quite happy with it.

Scott, you may want to look around a bit more for a good price on a SpyderSaw... I've seen them for $25.

EDIT - ... well, I know I've seen them for $25, but now I can't seem to find that price anywhere. My apologies.

I've heard good things about Coghlans mini Sierra Saw. They go for under $10 too.

Eddited to add: Don't break down and get the Spydie saw. They are too agressive and have a tendency to bind. This is all second hand info, but from sources I trust.

Fantastic little saw for under 6.00 Canadian. The tool steel mini Sierra cuts like a laser beam and is set up to be disposible. When dull (takes a long time) buy another, or buy 5 and rotate them for a hell of a long time.

[Spyderco saw]

All saws will be over aggressive and bind or not aggressive enough and clog depending on the type of wood, no tooth pattern is fluid on all woods. Which woods did it have problems with and what was their state, fresh, felled, dead and seasoned, punky, etc. .
