Hello everyone! I know it has been a long time but, I thought I would stop by and say hi to everyone! I see John has been having his complications! I know how it is, I had a stroke in 2019, it’s not been easy since then! I have to use a rollator now to get around! How many of the original gang are still around? I look forward to hearing from all of you! Hope this finds all of you well!

Welcome back! I hope you're on the mend and getting stronger.
Thanks Bob, I have gotten a lot better than I started out from the stoke, I just got lucky! I’m thankful that I have a medical wife, and she noticed the signs! Now I have vascular dementia because I had a brain bleed, due to the stroke! But considering the alternative, I’m good! I just wish I had my mobility back! I can’t even get out to go fishing anymore! All of my equipment is going to waste, I guess I will start giving that to the younger people around here! I figure if I can’t go, then I’ll try to start some young people into going to the woods! I really miss that part of my life! But I’m getting older, and I guess it’s time to teach others to do those things now! Hopefully I will get some place there! It doesn’t look like there is much going on here nowadays, has everyone just disappeared or what? I recon I better let you go! You might have something else to do! So thanks for the note, and you take care of yourself! frontier Tom

Sorry to hear about your conditions, I know it sucks not being able to do anything we want to do anymore. I’m not liking getting older, can’t do much and can’t afford to live. Between my wife and I we spend most of our time at doctors and hospitals, not much fun. I have an oncologist appointment today to go over results of a PET CT Scan, to see if any cancer is anywhere else in my body. You are correct, not many people here anymore, except for a few who check in occasionally.
Take care!

I suppose at least some folks are trying to get those last summer things in. Maybe things will pick up a bit in the winter.
Hopefully that is the case but I'm not overly optimistic that it is. From my perspective other parts of BF have changed so much over the past several years that I don't enjoy or learn from reading various post. I used to be on here a couple times every day. Now I may check in once every few days. If it wasn't for the JK subforum I would check in even less.

Thanks Bob, for the sentiment, I’m sorry for yours too! I played the cancer thing in 2012, they too two thirds of my right link out, and I decided to do the chemotherapy just for safety! My Pet came back clean as a whistle! I’ve been cancer free for 12 years now! I don’t think I would put myself through that again if I came up with some other type of cancer! I hope your results come back negative! I wouldn’t wish that crap on my worst enemy! The whole trouble with that situation is they have a cure for every one of these diseases but, because of big Pharma, and all the researchers, and the facilities that employ them are making huge profits from the industry! Us little people that have no say about it, are S-O-L! Money is King in this world now days! I’m hoping that is getting ready to change in America soon, with the election! I
I’m hoping greatly that my man will change the situation in this country, and get us back on track! I want to see America be America again! Maybe get some heads out of some whazoos! I don’t want to die in a communist country!
We live in Florida now days, our A/C went out on us day before yesterday! It’s been the hottest summer I’ve ever seen here this year! What a time to have A/C problems! We’re waiting for a new motor now! We’re running a portable AC system, and all kinds of fans l! I guess it’s better than nothing! It’s just hot, and or comfortable at all, and they wonder why old people die in their own homes! Yeah, we know about not being able to afford to live! It’s gotten pretty bad! And I damn sure know what you mean about the doctors and medical staff, if it wasn’t for those people, I wouldn’t have any friends at all! My wife doesn’t have to see them near as much I do but between the medical, and the dental, it keeps me quite busy! After the stroke, the state of Florida took my driver’s licenses away from me, so that makes things even worse for me! I might as well be in a prison! I’ve even got a jailer! My wife runs things around here like a prison! Well buddy I will let you go for now, I know nobody wants to sit around and hear someone else bitch about their pathetic life! Thanks for your time brother! Good luck, and hang in there, you’ll get good news, I’ll say a prayer on it, let me know how it goes! Take care brother!

Yeah you might be right but from the looks of how long it’s been since anyone has posted, it doesn’t look good! I’ve never seen it this bad before! I will hope you’re right! Most of the guys that hung out here when I was in Wisconsin, were pretty into their knives, and were pretty constant on here! I know things have changed a bunch with the economy since then, and that probably has something to do with it too! My wife took my hobby away from me! I cannot buy any kind of knives now! I haven’t been able to buy a knife in very long time! I have to be content with using the ones an already had! She wants me to get rid of those too but, I’m having nothing to do with that! She will have to wait until I die! Well bud, I will say so long for now! Take care!

Hi Tom, good to see you posting!

Maggie and I moved to far-south central Tennessee in 2019, then after getting settled, we both retired.

We live in a beautiful small town called Winchester,, TN, near the Alabama border. We love it here.

I still check in here frequently.

I officially begin having gubment checks sent to me next month as I just turned 62.

I was happy to see you still kicking!

mqqn mqqn how were affected by the storms and flooding from Helene? I hope you guys are ok.

I talked to a good friend who lives in Old Fort NC.
His house was spared, but he said most of the small town is in shambles.
I was worried as he wasn't answering calls.
He said they were without power for a couple days and still don't have water at the house.
He has to drive a couple miles into town to get into a cellular Hotspot to make calls.
This was a nasty storm, the interstate highways (40 and 26) are closed into his area so I would play hell even reaching his house at this point.

Wow, we were in Chimney Rock in 2022, enjoyed the little shops and things and the ride up to the summit, my daughter actually hiked it up the stairs, devasting all those shops, roads, bridges were destroyed.
