it's got that persian sabre look to it?
it's a mini BK5?
it's FISK with some Toooj and Ethan's souls trapped inside?
pre-ordered? really? who's doing that? nobody has stock, or probably will for a month.
But that's the entire point of pre-ordering, reserving a spot before the first shipment goes out. At least most new knife models are still available for pre-order without a down payment - pre-orders for movies, music, and video games often require a few bucks put down first. The advantages for the retailers are a real gauge to popularity for making a first order, and in the case of the down payment, having cash on hand to pay down the wholesale purchase even faster, saving on interest charges. The advantage for the buyer, as long as the retailer follows up, is that they don't have to hunt for the new model after it hits the streets, so they don't have to worry about getting hit with quick sell-throughs and having to wait for the next shipment or paying secondary market prices to scratch the itch quickly. Some pre-orders are done a year or more in advance. Heck, people pre-order knives that don't even exist. They contact their favorite retailer and say "Just in case manufacturer ABC makes model 123 in steel XYZ, or with handle scales made of gold-plated micartanium, put me on a list." or a blanket "put me down for anything new at SHOT coming from brand ABC."pre-order all you want, but nobody is going to GET any until April, just saying... unless the rules have changed
