What is it about the BK15 that looks so interesting?

I'm happy to post that I pre-ordered the bk15 and bk17. I thought I was going to order the bk16 but for some reason I was more drawn to the bk15.

What is it about the bk15 looks so interesting?

it's got that persian sabre look to it?

it's a mini BK5?

it's FISK with some Toooj and Ethan's souls trapped inside?

pre-ordered? really? who's doing that? nobody has stock, or probably will for a month.

pre-order all you want, but nobody is going to GET any until April, just saying... unless the rules have changed

I agree with Bladite.

But that's the entire point of pre-ordering, reserving a spot before the first shipment goes out. At least most new knife models are still available for pre-order without a down payment - pre-orders for movies, music, and video games often require a few bucks put down first. The advantages for the retailers are a real gauge to popularity for making a first order, and in the case of the down payment, having cash on hand to pay down the wholesale purchase even faster, saving on interest charges. The advantage for the buyer, as long as the retailer follows up, is that they don't have to hunt for the new model after it hits the streets, so they don't have to worry about getting hit with quick sell-throughs and having to wait for the next shipment or paying secondary market prices to scratch the itch quickly. Some pre-orders are done a year or more in advance. Heck, people pre-order knives that don't even exist. They contact their favorite retailer and say "Just in case manufacturer ABC makes model 123 in steel XYZ, or with handle scales made of gold-plated micartanium, put me on a list." or a blanket "put me down for anything new at SHOT coming from brand ABC."

unobtanium :)

which reminds me, i should look into plane tickets soon

If the BK5 didn't have the huge choil I'd be all over it. The BK15 has a similar choil but it's smaller so I hope I can live it.

The blade shape looks so awsome to me. I can't wait to get it!

the choil is pretty innocuous, people love it :)
