I have a 10 inch piece of flat metal that I picked up at a yard sale for $1.00. on it is stamped: "genuine sythax"

What kind of metal is it? Did I waste my $1.00? (lol)

Using the ixquick search engine, I typed in "Sythax Steel",I got nothing that would shed any light on what you have. What I did get was a number of the most bizarre porno sites you could imagine,go figure.

Does it look like a brush cutter blade? There is a Sythax Corp that makes them.

All I could find was 'tool steel heat treated'.
