Any guesses? It was found in a bin at the Schrade factory. There are no markings on the blade, but the basic blade shape and size resembles a Schrade 148 or 498. The hidden tang ends just in front of the lanyard hole.

You got me! I don't know what it is, but the handle looks familiar. Didn't Western make some knives with handles like this back in the 1980's?

Maybe a proto of something that never made it to production?

Nice knife, would have liked to seen how a line of these would have looked.

The handle looks like the APEX (AP16) fixed blades but the blade is all different.
Interesting knife.

Molded in the circular area on the right side of the handle is USA. On the left side of the handle in the same area, is Buck.

The blade is unstamped and this knife never appeared in a Buck catalog; its origin is otherwise unknown. There have been other strange Buck knives that were found in the backroom of Schrade after it closed, did Schrade make some prototypes for Buck?
