Forlorn comes to mind! I hope in the future it provides decent jobs for the local people who suffered its loss!

I hope they preserve the exterior of the building and don't plaster it up with stucco or worse knock it down entirely.

Interesting that there is still a new and un-tattered American flag on the building. I bet someone is still looking out for this great piece of history. It's actually a piece of my history too--my first-ever knife (got it as a Cub Scout!) was a Camillus.

If you read the construction sign in front of the building, it's going to be a Medical Wellness Center.
The artists drawing looks as if the building will still stand with new windows installed.

Thanks for posting those, Jimmy. I drove past there the other day, on my way to one of my favorite fishing spots on Nine Mile Creek.
I always feel a little sad that the owners weren't savvy enough, or didn't care enough, to keep a piece of American History alive.

Sad to see. Wasn't there was a fire in part of the old building a few years ago?

I think the fire was in an adjacent part of the building, that has since been demolished.

The fire did cause much of the factory, which stood right behind the front building pictured, to have to be torn down. It was likely slated for being torn down anyway. Anyhow... this is pretty much the end for it's remaining look.. mods to be made and Camillus Cutlery as we remembered it, will fade away... figured I'd share a last glimpse.

Couldn't help but notice the words 'SURVIVE' - 'REVIVE' - 'THRIVE' in the lower part of the windows up front. That's a sad irony to look at.

Yup, right smack in the middle of the Camillus town (Camillus NY). Camillus is growing on it's outskirts with big box stores and all, but the downtown area is still very much old school... and if ya blink, you've driven through it, lol! :-)

I hope they can preserve the heritage of the building for the medical center. Lots of old buildings turned into offices in the York pa area. No reason they can't do it there.
