Long story short, my teenage son has been pretty hard on a Buck Folding Kalinga Pro I got him for Christmas a few years ago. So hard on it in fact, I traded him an Ontario Rat 1 and some cash for it so I could restore it.
Anyway, the brass bolster on one side has a healthy scratch. The blade has a pit on it where he didn't clean it up adequately because you can see that whatever attacked the steel also stained the brass where the two materials meet when the knife is folded. Finally, the leather sheath is pretty chewed up from whatever cause. Can't get a straight story on any of it, but I suspect his dog got ahold of it somehow when she was a pup.
Now, I know it will cost some cash and time, but can this knife and its sheath be restored to anything approaching its former glory, especially as it is disco'd?
What miracles, if any, have you seen from sending back a worn and torn Buck?
