Perhaps they're ordering while seated in the passenger lounge at San Francisco International Airport, a.k.a. SFO?

Elevation: 12 feet
GMT Offset: +8.0 hours
Longitude: 122*23'0" W
Latitude: 37*37'0" N
Either that, or they could be ordering from the Spyderco Factory Outlet.

In spite of the very imaginative replies so far........ 
My best guess is that you are referring to - Special Factory Order.
These are done by some manufacturers for large customers (eg. Cabelas, or Bass Pro Shops) in a usually predetermined number. Maybe with a name, logo, serial number. Or maybe not.
