Hi everyone,

I saw that GEC is going to do a run of knives in Sunbrite, and I they have used this acrylic before, but I was just wondering two things: first, what is it and is it somehow related to Nifebrite? And second, does anyone have any they'd like to show off? :D

Hi Dave. It is glow-in-the-dark acrylic like knifebrite and there are pictures in the "Let's Talk GEC" thread....I think. I don't have one yet to show you, but someone here will chime in. :D

Sunbrite Acrylic on a Tidioute 77 Yankee Jack. The brighter cousin of NifeBrite.

In the run-up to the festive season, generations of British school-children once sang:

While shepherds washed their socks by night,
All seated round a tub,
A bar of Sunbrite soap came down,
And they began to scrub.
;)

The Knifebrite material never appealed to me, didn't like the color of it too much and just have no use for a glow in the dark knife...but this sunbrite looks nice, love the color on it. Still don't care much about the glow in the dark aspect, but it looks good in the light.

WOW that is gorgeous! Yep. Add me to the "need it" category. :D Does it glow yellow like the color of the scales or is the typical green glow in the dark color?

It still glows green. If I understand correctly, it's still the Nifebrite material, just with a yellow scale underneath.
