Well what is it. I did a search didn't come up with very much. All I know is it's not steel, I think

Talonite is the same as stellite 6Bh except it is hot rolled and age hardened.

Kit Carson has been using stellite for years, Rob Simonich is now a dealer for Talonite blade stock, either of them and of corse the Doc can expound on my explantation by light years.

Greg,

After you've followed DC's suggestion and still have any questions please either post them or e-mail me. I'd be more than happy to answer any queries you might have. I've had my Talonite Wambli (the first Talonite fixed blade made) for almost 1.5 months. And I've another on the way called the Chimera.

Although I'm sure the technical specs on Talonite were posted in one of the threads, you can always go to carbideprocessors.com and check it out from the OEM too.

Man, I can't believe Walt missed this one! Was it because the others answered it so succinctly? Walt? Walt?

Greg62, Talonite is..............very good stuff indeed! Go to my web site below and on the front page there are a couple Talonite buttons with plenty of info on it. Rob

Rob I went to your siweb site right after I asked the question. Good site and good info THANKS

Hammer; I knew that the other posters would do their usual outstanding job of informing others of the virtues of Talonite (r)

I have a bunch of projects going on right now with Talonite.

Darrel Ralph is making me a custom folder; the design turned out so well, that he is thinking about adding it to his line.

Rob Simonich is making me a fixed blade hunter with a drop point shape, 5" blade, Ti scales

Kit Carson is making me a #18 folder, a large and small U2 dive knife, and two paring knives, following the pattern of the one he made for Tim Flanagan's wife this last Christmas. A 3" and a 4" blade, each with Corion (faux granite) scales.

I just bought a Stellite (r) folder from Kit, and it is a beauty. C-fiber scales, inlaid Ti liner lock. Will have to compare this with Darrel Ralph's folder.

Thus, the Talonite (r) project is proceeding well, and we should start to see some wonderful new products on the market soon.

The only thing that worries me is testing. The test should be vigorous, but I cringe when I think about Thaddeus pounding Talonite (r) knives through car hoods <g>
I'll keep you in touch as things develop. Walt
