Hi yall,
What are my options for a custom frame lock with a flipper?

up tp 600$
Thanks in advance.

I'll second the previous two posters... RJ Martin and Yuna knives rock. Also check out knives by Keith Ouye and Tim Galyean.

for that price range, other than RJ Martin, check out Todd Begg's MIG line, Tim Galyean's pro-series knives, or Kirby Lambert's IKBS flipper offerings. If you want a flipper, and only a flipper, don't bother with the XM-18. it's an excellent knife, but it won't flip without wrist action.

edit: also Ken Onion has a mid-tech Ripple line out (or coming out), that should be worth checking out.

XM-18's will flip with zero wrist action, although not in the same class as the IKBS knives, there still very easy to flip. I've never had a problem with the ones i've had.

the xm i had flipped with no wrist action, but you gotta have a strong flipper finger. ;)

anything with ikbs (or similar) will flip with almost no effort.

both ikbs flippers i have are linerlocks, a begg mig and a thorburn.

darrel ralph also makes great flippers. the one i have is like buttered glass with no bearing system, and its a framelock (model 10).

RJ Martin, in my opinion, makes the best custom flippers out there. Kershaw, using RJ's designs, makes the best production flippers around, so I'd say his design has a lot to do with it. I'd say RJ is the king of the custom flipper folder!

Another vote for RJ Martin. I would also like to throw in a vote for Todd Begg!! He makes an awesome knife! Here is mine:

1) RJ Martin Overkill

OR

2) Tim Galyean Pro-Series line (not custom)

I've got a Peter Carey Rubicon, that's butter smooth... A dream to flip!
Best flipper without IKBS.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
