For me its the Benchmade Griptilian followed closely by the ZT 0350 which can be found for under $100. Perhaps you can get three high value but quality ones for under $100: Delica, Tenacious, Vex...

Spyderco's Stretch FRN or Centofante 3.

Anything from Victorinox.

Lots of offerings from Case or Great Eastern...

What are you looking for? Locking (If so, what kind of lock), non-locking, one-handed opening, what kind of handles, etc. There's so many options it's hard to narrow down.

Or one of the recent colorful offerings of the FFG Delicas and Enduras. If you want a medium hard use EDC then check out the 154CM Spyderco Manix 2.

Spyderco Stretch is an outstanding knife, Benchmade Griptilian is also, I have to agree with these guys, for under $100 these are the two to choose from IMO. If you want to even go a little lower cost the Spyderco Tenacious is real good buy for about half the price.

My personal opinion I like the Stretch better, just because it's a little thinner, I like the Spyderco thumb hole, the Griptilian is fat and not real comfortable in my back pocket. But it locks up good with the Axis lock, so I do like that, but the Stretch locks up nice too. I love Spyderco's lock backs. They're very solid.

Plus you can move the pocket clip on the Stretch anywhere you want. So you can carry tip down or tip up. The Stretch is VG-10 or for more $ ZDP-189. VG-10 is real good stuff.

I probably know less than everyone else here, having said that I spent some time recently doing roughly what you did, i got a mini grip. If I was to do it over again, I would probably get the mini grip of this:

It is slightly more money than what you want to pay.

I think if you look around you can get a lone wolf long horn under a $100. I haven't used it but its on my short list. cpm30v blade, 3.5" and supposed to be a fast opener.

i've narrowed it down to either the g10 delica, a ffg endura (brown or grey) and i'd get a 4sevens preon2 with the money that i'd save, or the blue stetch in zdp 189.

what is your opinion?

Take a look at the Spyderco Sage 1, you wont be disappointed.

Edit: I just saw your post above me. If you can find a G10 delica then of the knives you listed I would go for that one.

i think the spyderco endura is one of the best all around pocket knives for under 100 dollars. its very tough and reliable. i like mine with full serrations.

With a price limit of $100, I might go with the Spyderco Sage. It takes a bit of searching but they can be found for just under $100 if you try.

Flat grind, S30V steel, carbon fiber scales. Sweet little knife.

I would pass on those two. Lockback knives are tougher to open then a liner lock or axis lock. You should surf the FS forums for a BM 710 or a Spyderco Millie. You can find both used for around $100

I would have to say the G-10 delica because it has the following feature the other two don't.Full length steel liners,a steel back spacer, and G-10 handles.

Cold Steel Black Rhino. Once you take some scotchbrite to the shiny aluminum, basically pre-scratching it, it becomes a really nice edc knife. And since you can get one for $64.99 right now, it is a really good deal. Everyone I show it too just loves the way it looks, kind of like an old folding hunter on steroids. Several people I have shown it too, who are not into knifes bigtime, have bought one since seeing mine.

If you like flippers , Kershaw is where you want to start looking.

Kershaw has a lot of high value offerings under a hundred bucks.

Tostig

I really my spyderco's I rotate between my endura, stretch, and my sage you cannot go wrong with these

I'd take a look at the Kershaw Lahar, the Kershaw JYDII, or Kershaw Groove. All are available and will still leave room for the 4Sevens Preon 2.

BTW, I have the Preon 2 and love it. It replaced my Leatherman Serac as my shirtpocket knife, and since all the shirts I wear, work and play, have pockets I have the Preon with me everywhere I go.
