I was looking for my first pocket knife and i all i saw was a lot CCC.I wanted a good pocket for $50 that would last.

Its meant to go in the sheath it comes with instead of in your pocket, but a buck 110 will last you a life time if you take care of it.
Victorinox also makes great knives that will last a lifetime if you take care of them ( many well under 40$ )
The case sodbuster and sodbuster jr are excellent knives for around 30$, and will also last a lifetime.

Many modern folders for 50$ or less are going to be budget knives that may not be lifetime users, thought I know that Kershaw has a few American made models for about 50$ or just under, but I have no experience with them.

Many people are going to ask what your going to do with your knife, and will end up telling you to save and spend a little more but these knives I've listed are great no matter what you'll be doing with your knife.

What are you going to use it for? What is your plan for keeping it sharp?

If you're looking for a folding knife for belt pouch carry, perhaps a Schrade Old Timer folding hunter? Like the Buck 110 but only $20. If not for a belt pouch, maybe Buck Vantage or Glacier 300? Both with pocket clips.

Ontario RAT, 1 or 2 folders. Great EDC.
Real Steel Sea Eagle. That is slightly larger than the Rat 1, but is a flipper.
You have to decide what style of knife you want too. But those are two great knives. Especially for the price you get them for.

Rat 1 in D2 is a solid choice. The new Cutjack from Steel Will is a new contender for that throne, though I think.

"Best" can only ever be a personal choice. The one I like an awful lot for under fifty is the Batum.

Designed by Jesper Voxnaes, and built by Columbia River Knife And Tool. The blade steel is their usual 8CroV- whatever, and it needs attention from the hone on a regular basis. The size, shape, and ergonomics are very right.

Folder with sheath.
Buck 110

For a clip folder without sheath I would suggest the following.
Ontario RAT 1, or 2. (They are the large & small versions of the same design)
Ontario Utilitac II. Multiple selections here for handle and blade shapes.
Kershaw Blur, Assisted opening
Kershaw Link, Assisted opening
Spyderco Delica, over $50 new, but you should find one for around $50 used here on the Exchange.
Spyderco Dragonfly, Essentially a smaller version of the Delica. You may find one new for $50-ish. Easy to find used for cheaper.

Remember. The search is half the fun!!

I fully agree the Buck 110 and Vantage Select, which comes in large and small models, are well worth the money, and can be had for much less than $50. There is a blade steel upgrade available for a Vantage Pro version that comes in at @ $50. I have both, but have found the Select (large) suits me just fine, so that’s what I have in my pocket right now. After six years of moderate use, it is still right and tight. I also have the Buck 110, which I think a bit heavy for EDC purposes, but for sustained cutting, it is the most comfortable folding knife I own. The Schrade, if I’m thinking of the right model, is a Buck 110 clone, Chinese made, not quite up to the Buck original version quality, and I’m not familiar with the Glacier 300. It is a budget Chinese made import, though, and both USA Bucks are priced well under your $50 limit. But that’s your call.
