Thanks,

AND FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT SAY THE BM42: How much do these knives sell for?

I was thinking more along the lines of the 44 and 45 models! But the 42 is okay.

The 45 is my favorite, but it costs about $200.

The 42 is second and costs about $100.

Cost wise the 42 is a better deal.

Call me old fashioned, but I do prefer a BM45 to a 42 just ever so slightly. Maybe it's just tradition. Maybe it's just what I've been so used to. The 42 is great. A very, very close second. I think it's the sound of the 45 that I prefer to the 42.

The best currently available balisong is the 42. It beats anything that I've seen out of any custom maker in recent years too.

It's not often that an ordinary joe gets to own something that is truly the best in its class. Decide that you want the best car in the world, and you'd better have a fraction of a million to spend. Best watch? You'll need ten thousand for that. Dinner for two at one of the best restaurants? Three to five hundred dollars.

But, you can buy a BM42 for less than $125. It is very realistic to own this knife and it really is the best in its class.

Think W!

No #1-any of the better Benchmades,45,44,42,etc.I just saw a 45s second at a flea market and I cannot figure out what was wrong with it.The comparable Pacific Cutlery butterflys are also nice.

No #2- Tied between Taylor Manila folder and the Compass Cho No Shi-1200 series.

There is then a big gap till the next makers and I don't care for the Benchmade International series or economy line.

fter posting this I just realized I excluded the 3" Benchmade and PC butterflys. Some of these were nice and I don't rate them as high as the 4' models strictly on size preference-not quality.
