What Is The Best Stuff To Clean Bm's Axis

Stuff is probably good enough, but I use Benchmade's Blue Lube right now for the pivot area, and Tuf-Cloth for the blade.

REM OIL is pretty close to a 10 weight oil (penetrating oil). I'm not a fan, but still use it when in a crunch.

For cleaning, I see if a blast of compressed air (when available) will get the crud out. If not, a soak in Dawn dish soap followed by a good rinse usually gets them clean. Air blast to dry. Then it's lube with Militec (in the past, it was Breakfree CLP) with a post lube (after a few hours) clean towel wipe down to get up the excess lube.

If an uncoated blade, I sometimes use Renesance Wax on the blade (and shiny metal handle material). But that's generally long term storage.

i would blow it out with compressed air to clean it, or use hot water and a toothbrush and very diluted dish soap, the oil it with the rem oil or tuff glide or militech all are good.

If its more then just dust, i use WD-40 to clean out the mechanism and then wash an re-lube with decent lube.

I use Breakfree CLP for all gun and knives and other metal stuff. I buy it in 1 gallon jugs and funnel it into pint spray botttles. I think is works great. You can get it at almost any gun store and it's cheap.

Like any lube you should use it sparingly and wipe off all traces. A little does the job.

Here is some info about a corrosion test of various lube products that may be of interest.
