Could you guys tell me what is the best tanto style 1/2 serrated pocket knife for around $120
it has to be able to hold its edge for a long time and the blade should not fold easily
I was looking at the MOD 875 are they any good?
thanks for your help

I own the Benchmade 722SBT which is a good knife with a great lock. There's also the Benchmade 910HS which has M2 steel and the new Benchmade 553 which is a tanto Griptillian. Look at them here: 722 910 and 553

I would defintely look at the Emerson cqc-7b series. The knives really hold an edge well and have a great tanto design. My edc is one of their mini cqc-7b's with a partially serrated blade.

maybe the buck strider series. the ats34 is heat treated by Paul Bos.

I'm really digging the Kershaw tactical blur right now. MSRP is $99.95, so you would probably find it close to $60 on the net. It's not the best blade, but it does have a nice heat treat. Also, it has that great tortion bar for assisted openings.

Get a Benchmade 722s...Seriously...It's an EXCELLENT folder!.:).

SOG's Vision is definetly worth looking at.
IMO it has excellent blade geometry,
which makes it more functional than most.

Emerson CQC-7B all the way!

Very strong, great ergonomics, classic design, excellent materials (154CM blade steel, G-10 handle slabs, ti liners).

I have a tactical blur and I really like it. It feels very well made. I doubt you'll be dissapointed.

I'm holding out for a Axis Lock conversion for the BM 910 Stryker. By far my favorite tanto. :D

Benchmade 905 mini stryker, my old model has G-10 scales, ATS-34 blade. Good ergonomics, holds an edge well, alittle bit smaller than most others recommended. Discontinued by Benchmade, but if you can find one,it's worth more than you will pay for it. Excellant for EDC. Good luck, and welcome to the forum, Marty

I have the M-16 12Z and I have been beating it to death for about three years now. In fact I just picked up two M16-14 big dogs for my wife and I with our names engraved in them. :D Great knives.

i would get the emerson SOCFK myself, its waved and a lot better imho than a CQC7.

spyderco lum tanto is a good tanto style blade for edc.

skip the MOD, i dont care for them FWIW.

imho the SOCFK is prob the #1 tanto style for me anyway.
