Hi, I'm new to knives, but I'm after a well balanced cheap throwing knife that I can use for target practice. Any recommendations?

I like sets of three, at least, when I buy throwers. Cheap is a relative term really, but I will give you my two cents worth. Kit Rae makes some nice three piece sets available: Hellhawk, or Air Cobra models. Retail is about $65.00 for either of those sets of three. If you want to step it up a little more you can go with the Boker Magnum Bailey Ziell II triple set for retail around $105.00. I am sure you can find those well under the retail price if you shop around a bit. That should be good to start you off with for now. I hope this helps you out. There are, of course many others to choose from, just stay away from the super cheap ones because they will disappoint without fail (and possibly cause bodily harm). Stay safe, and welcome to the wonderful world of knives.

there's really not a best set of throughing knives, basically whatever you like, they all hang around the same price. Depends where you like them waited, how you like to throw them. For such a simple task it's not hard. Just stay away from knives with excessive bulk on it.
