I recently bought a Spyderco dragonfly and I want to know what product to put on the blade to protect it from rust. if anyone knows, let me know. thanks

I've a few zdp blades, no rust occurred so far (2 yrs in service). I use my dragonfly to shave, sometime I put it away wet - still no rust nor even stain. I use camellia oil to protect carbon knives.

4v, as long as you don't put it away wet you shouldn't have any problem with rust. You could wipe the blade down once in a while with just about any kind of oil from time to time, and you'll be golden.

I echo the above - I have never had to do anything special with my ZDP-189 blades.

Wipe clean after use and store dry and no worries.

I do not live near the ocean, so that may require one to use a little protective oil, but not a problem here in the cornfields.

best

If you really wanna protect it from rust, I got two words for ya: Tuff Cloth. It's not food safe, but trust me, it will protect the blade.

ZDP-189 is pretty stain resistant. I've cut oranges, limes, apples and onions with it. No stains so far and all I've done is wash and wipe it down.

If you want that extra piece of mind, Eezox is the best. (not food safe) Froglube is a close second and it is food safe.
