What is the coating on ESEE and TOPS knives?

I'm guessing it's some sort of epoxy paint, but does anyone know for certain?

What's the best way to remove it?

Is there any way for an ordinary knife owner to duplicate it?

It's a textured powder coat. The coating will wipe away if you let the blade soak in paint stripper for about 10 minutes (just brush it on the portion of the knife you want to strip). I seen a picture of someone that just stripped the blade portion of the knife and it looked really good.

Hmm. I'm guessing a powder coat isn't something the average knife owner can apply?

Thanks for the info, anyway.
