the coolest knife I have ever owned is the butterfly I got for ten dollars. It was sterling silver with a crooked blade

TOPS Steel Eagle. No question at all.
That would be the tanto point one, BTW. I have the 7". For it's size it is meaner looking than even the biggest bowies.

Seriously ? Hmm..I've hundreds of knives - Production progressing to Custom and full circle, and back to the spendys. The knife that really rekindled my boyhood interest in knives was the Cold Steel Tanto I saw in an ad in Brigade Quartermaster catalog back in the mid 80's - A reverse grip CS Tanto about to come down on unfortunate hand in a card game. Upon delivery - just like yesterday - the heft, the grip, and that edge. I WAS IN AWE. At that point in time, it was all over for me.

Probably the Microtech Halo II; one of my "funnest," quickest drawing pieces and likely the most impractical knife I own.

Hmmm... that implies you no longer have it

I have had the good fortune to pick up a several stellar examples of the knife makers art.

Which one is the coolest? My KIT CARSON AUTO!

Stay Sharp,

Toss-up:

Folts Mantis,
or
Tim Britton Mamba III.

Both great at their applications. Both small enough to be quick and concealable, both with well-thought-out and well-made sheath and carry systems, both made with quality. The Mantis is my semi-ugly combat knife and the Mamba is my prettier, more utility-style blade. I love 'em both! Don't make me choose!

The Coolest knife I ever had was a real SOG bowie I picked up in Nam in 1969. I traded it for a P35 Browning in 73.

For its scare factor; Cold Steel Vaquero. Big and oh so bad. Not much for utility though.

The Service Number One khukuri I just got from Gurkha house is very nice too though; I'd call them folding bad-ass and fixed blade bad-ass. I think that I like the khuk a little better though.

Just because I talk to myself does not make me crazy. Now, when I listen to myself, that makes me crazy.

The first really cool knife I ever had was an Al Mar Falcon I bought aroubd 1983. It was the first quality knife I ever bought. The second would be my first Delica because it introduced me to one handers.

Ed Fowler Proghorn. Still have it. Got it 5.5 years early, too from Ed himself.

Well I just received one of the nicest Traditional Tantos I've ever handled, made by a guy named Don Fogg, you might have heard of him, it's a beaut!

Blade is about 7" forged steel with a nice Hamon or clay temper line, sweet knife!

While the CS Tanto was my (b)first(/b) cool knife - upon seeing Greg's post, I'd have to change my choice to my Ed Fowler WoodCraft. Pretty sweet knife......

The knife that I have that makes people say "wow" the most is the REKAT Hobbit Warrior. It's one mean looking mutha!

Then probably the MT Combat Talon II.
