I am about to order my first sebenza. I have seen the pics of the classic and the plain , and about the only difference that I can see is the thumb cut out in the handle. Is the blade profile a little different too? Thanks for any info--C.L.

The blade is a bit different. To me the classic seems to be a little more clip point. While the regular is more drop point. I opted for the regular small and am very happy. If you have not read this thread you may want to check it out. classic or regular sebenza
BTW, just because I see it, doesn't mean it is really there.

The first knife was probably used to cut stuff.

To coin an expression a favor the use of: it's the same thing, only different.

I chose the classic and am pleased. I have a feeling you'll be happy with either. Let me tell you, it is every bit as sharp as they say. I don't know if it's the bg 42 or if CRK just knows how to sharpen a blade. I just hope I can recreate the the keen edge once mine dulls.
