What is the equivalent to the Buck 119 in the firearms world?

Interesting question... can go in two directions given the 119's heritage.

It started out as a WWII fighting knife, so in that venue, I'd pair it with another WWII firearm icon, the Smith & Wesson M&P "Victory" model revolver or an M1 Garand.

But in it's current role as a classic hunting knife, I'd pair it with a classic hunting firearm, a 30-30 lever action rifle... Marlin, Winchester or Savage.

Here in Illinois I would pair the 119 with a Remington 870 Wingmaster, or similar variant, given the prevalent use of both tools in the chase of the whitetail.

Lots of rifle answers here. For me, a longer heavier duty knife (or machete) would be a better comparison to a rifle. Because of the size, price, flexibility, and popularity of the 119, I'd go with a duty pistol. Number 1 choice(s) for me would be a Glock 19 or Glock 17. If I were to go with pre-polymer pistols, I'd go with a Beretta 92 or Sig P226.

No nonsense knife with a no nonsense pistole..Glock G-23..A 120 equivalent would be a G-35..But years ago I tried to put Dan Wesson and Buck together with a LE Selector to go with Dan Wesson's pistol pack. It just seemed a natural fit. Two of America's best companies together.

The Buck 119 is the iconic American Sportsman's fixed blade knife - would have to pair with The Rifleman's Rifle in the All-American caliber of 30-06 Springfield. Just happen to have one of those rifles (old picture, need to re-shoot with the Buck 119). OH
