What is the hardness of 1085C steel on fixed blades?

Hello guys,

Does anyone know how many HRC the fixed blades in 1085C steel have? What are the approximate figures? For example, KA-BARs in 1095 have up to 57 HRC, what is the difference here?

I depends on how the blade was heat treated. From what I have read, Randall still tempers their O1 blades to like 55, which is MUCH softer than most. I leave my 1084 blades at around 60.

This, plus companies will change it based on what the knife is intended to do. Gnerally speaking the bigger the blade the lower the RC. though this isn't to say there arent exceptions to this rule
