What is the harshest task you've done with your CRK?

Cleaned a deer. Worked pretty good. I edc a small sebenza and that's what i had .
I used hot water to clean it . And I simply just oiled with my precision oiler with mineral oil in it .
And it didn't need much more than a few passes on the golden stone to bring the edge back .
Never underestimate a sebenza!

I cringe every time DC posts... He uses these knives with glee and abandon! Balls Man!!!!I'm living vicariously through you!
Haha. They’re a joy to use, and well I can promise you they can take it. They’re just built for work. I took some inspiration years ago lurking some of kidcongo kidcongo threads. Using them is where I get my most enjoyment. I know a lot of people say that CRK owners don’t use their knives but I’ve met quite a few of them here.

This.

I’ve had this Small ATS-34 for going on 25 years now and, even though it’s been retired out of sentimentality, it always flawlessly performed any task one can reasonably expect from a folding pocket knife.

Like any quality tool - use ‘em, don’t (overly) abuse ‘em, and they’ll serve you well.

Thanks! Yeah, bought it in Feb ‘96 - still have the receipt in the box. Have had many others come and go including Ps, Regulars, Classics, 21s, Umfaans, and Mnandis (some of which I really wish I would have kept but, oh well...) but this one will always be “My Sebenza”.

I tend to use a fixed blade for most of my tougher cutting tasks, but used my Inkosi recently to open bags of top soil and mulch.

Mine would probably be when I recently used my small 21 black micarta insingo to fit all the drywall cuts on an entire wall with junior beams and windows. Thing was completely dull when I was done. Towards the end of the blade my edge was noticeably jagged.

That sounds harsh. Any photos? How many cuts did you get before you were just tearing the paper?

Didn't get any pics of the edge. But I think I can attribute the thin tip of the insingo for getting me through the whole thing without getting to the point of tearing paper. I used it to make my scores then snapped the drywall like a Hershey bar. Then I used it to clean up the edges of the breaks and cutouts and to trim off any small amounts to get my fit if needed.

It's funny. Some of you guys think you're afraid to use your knives. You should hear non-knife guys freakin' out. It's like they think the factory edge is all they got. "That's gonna dull your knife!!" Calm down. It'll resharpen.

Of course I did it more to prove to myself that the knife could do it. For something that freaking harsh I'll most likely just use a razor knife in the future.

I’ve scored a lot of Sheetrock with a Crk. The Insingo blade shape is perfect for it. Tanto works better than a drop point at it but insingo is definitely the best
