What is the hole for?

Although I don't own one yet I would love to get a Natural Outlaw and have spent too much time drooling over pictures of it on the internet. I just can't get enough money together right now

. I would also like to get a mountain bow, but still, not enough money. Anyway I was wondering what the hole below the blade is for? I couldn't find it in the search, so could someone please help me. Thanks

It's part of Jerry's trademark design. I'm told that originally the talon hole below the blade was to afix a "D" knucke guard. I also know that it helps to strap the knife to a makeshift spear or other impliment. Primarily it is now a design feature.

I know it is a Jerry trademark, but it works great for the pin-lock sheathes from Kenny Rowe.

It is a Busse Trademark, both holes are to attach the optional D guard, the bottom hole I use for a lanyard. And anything else you can think of doing with them. On a larger blade you could put a steel rod in it to use as a cross guard to keep other blades from hitting your hand. thats only when you get in that ocasional life or death knife duel though. LOL.
