Looks like a props department rework or custom. If you're looking for something like it, the Rigid Bearpaw from years ago is a decent big recurve that might work -

Yes, And I can also tell you exactly where to get it, as I once spend months wanting the same thing!

JantzSupply.com sell individual blades, the model you want to get is called "the grizzly." The thing is. the first poster was right, the WC bowie is based off the Tak Fukuta Grizzly. The one on Jantz seems to be some kind of replication of that style. Last I checked, they were around the 80 dollar mark I believe. I wouldn't be surpised if this is where the WC team got the blade for the movie either. Note though, its just the blade, you will have to get a guard fitted and a handle made. I'm in the process of getting a Wolf Creek replica done, will post pics. heheh.

hey dan, howd u go with the wolf creek replica ? I may have a pic to assist.
like a real close up pic with the measurements !

I'd love to see a pic if you have one handy. I've also considered having one of these made up.

...which was based on a "Down Under Bowie"

Do a search for "Crocodile Dundee Knife" and go nuts. They can be had for $30-300.
The only thing I'll say about them is that they are +5 against switchblade wielding street thugs, and can only be wielded by barbarians.

Could well be a movie prop. Or a real knife yet to be uncovered. The blade style with fuller and recurve does resemble closely the Tak Fukuta Grizzly, later sold as the Rigid Grizzly. The grind more resembles the Tak Fukuta Grizzly near the choil. But the lower guard more resembles the Outback Knives and Marbles posted above.

Tak Fukuta "Grizzly".

Yep, the fuller on that Grizzly is a lot closer than the Dundees. I actually think it's a Muela, from Toledo, but could easily be wrong.

Not my hobby !
Rather hated profession ...

BTW - Pakistani cheap blade and guard
plus prop handle, probably just from other knife
very simple and very cost effective :^)
