What is the loop of paracord on the sheath for?

What am I supposed to do with the little loop of paracord thats been run through the sheath? Thanks!
Also, on the sheath for the Shadow IV, is the belt loop mounted with a snap, or is that a rivet?

If I understand what you mean, you should wrap it aroud your knee.

the sheath has a belt loop secured by a button. it's a "one way" snap, try opening it with a tug at the bottom and reverse it to close (top to bottom)...they can be a little stubborn when new
