whats the most embarrassing knife you've ever owned? the one you would'nt want to admit to anyone???

Mine was a rambo 3 knife I bought in high school (14, 15 years ago).
I was really embarrased when I tried to hack some weeds down and the "peened on" tang came loose and I ended up with a "high-tec" flail!!...lol!!! what was as bad, if not worse, was the $75.00 I paid for it!!!!!!! :o

In high school I bought some sort of black Ontario USN survival knife to keep under the front seat of my car "in case it all came down." At some point, though, it occured to me that I was 16, played a lousy left-guard on the football team, had a cute girlfriend who'd barely let me touch her, drove a crummy car and had zits. In other words, I had problems that no stupid survival knife was going to solve. And if the Russians were to have invaded, I would have welcomed their rain of lead. I don't even remember what I traded that sucker for, but I'm sure I got taken in the deal. I just wanted to get rid of it.

I knew a lot of competent craftsmen and outdoorsmen growing up and none of them walked around with a Rambo-style cutlass, or any fixed blade for that matter. I guess that's the reason I prefer folders.

sounds like the mark 3 I had one at one time. found out the weak looking tip, was weak, snaps off reall easy!!!....lol!!!!

A black rubber one when i was a little boy, the blade geometry was way off and it didn't cut worth a darn! ROTHLMAO hehe

Cheers!

I bought an antique shamshit (uh, I mean shamshir) off of E-Bay. I saved the digital photos, and I could still swear it looked 100 times better in the pictures. It took me a while, but I finally convinced myself, against all reason, that this sword might actually be well made, perhaps even watered steel! Of course, I was dead wrong once I recieved it. I've got the thing hidden now- I want to get rid of it, but at the same time I'm too embarrassed that I might run into someone I knew while trying to pawn it.

A Kershaw Assisted opening knife, blade tip broke about the 4th time i used it, the lock gave out while using it and cut me across the knuckles, they knife is now somewhere in a junkbox rusting im sure.

That would be the whole box full of Pakastain crap in my closet, I don't even show good friends the stuff. :(

My worse was a emerson $5.00 knock-off. I was practicing quick snap presentations and the blade ended up going from 12o'clock to 10o'clock in the wrong direction. My wife wants her worse knife story told. She had a $10.00 balisong that had to be retired after a week of hard practice by her. The pins had disentergrated and the blade was about to become a projectile- sure to put someone's eye out:eek:

A bunch of Chineese knock-offs of S&W Swat Tactical, that I bought at a gunshow, 5 for $15, gave them out as consolation prizes to the guys, one year at a christmass party. Ever wondered why when your family agrees to buy "couples" gifts, limited to no more than $20, it always winds up being somthing for the kitchen or bathroom? Gifts like these knives are the reason! Have yet to ever see anyone but myself actually carry/use one. I still have four of them out in the garage somewhere. JDBraddy

I picked up a leatherman ripoff at the hardware store. It was one of those little teeny ones in the jar on the counter. What a piece of junk. Great size but all the tools suck, pliers were worthless.

possum!!...lolololol!!!!

ngk-send it back to kershaw im sure they'll make it right!!!I have three of the ones in question and havent had a problem, I only know of one other person that has had a problem. He sent it back and they did give him a new one.

badguy- Ive had some of the pakistan stuff myself. I bought a nice looking stockman with stag grips, looked really nice, but no matter how much I liked (opps did I say that?) the looks, everytime I looked at the back of the blade (and saw pakistan), Im was thoroughly ashamed.
My first wife got me one that was a two bladed trapper once and I used it to pick my kids door lock when they locked themselves in their room and thought it was reall funny (now in case your wondering I didnt divorce her for buying me a cheap knife, she left me for her another man).

wali-wow thats emarrassing!!! I hope no one saw that? sounds like your wife was too much for that junk cutlery!!! good thing she discontinued use!! that would have been embarrassing in jail if someone had asked her, "what are you in here for? throwing a cheap balisong blade into someones eye" I have a feeling though, the other person would leave her alone though!

jdbraddy- do the guys hold it against you?

peter- my dad bought one once I was so ashamed of him I didnt know what to say!!...lol!!! His was so cheap you could'nt work the pliers without the handles trying to close on you! (they were loose).

nifrand- the babylon!!!..yes knowwww it welll piece of------junk!!!
mine is hidden so well no one can find it!! I wouls sell it , but my conciense would bother me!!!

I got some Pakistan bowies, I was just getting into knives, I didn't know about steel at all. I just used them to practice sharpening freehand with and as throwers.

bobwhite-lolololol!!!!
I bet if you had hit any living thing it would have knocked it out before it got cut!!!

Don't know, I'm too embarassed to ask, but I should feel better soon, I have three Microtechs comming, one manual Socom(that will be my EDC untill I decide what kind of custom I want), one auto Socom, and one L-UDT (illegal to actually carry here). These will be the first autos in my collection. Also have a large fixed blade on the way, that is if you consider a 35-1/4" large for a fixed blade!
It's an MS-1503. http://store.swordforum.com/angustrim/1503.php
